Dermal fillers are used as a non-surgical and non-invasive way to give facial features more volume and smoothness to the skin. This can be used for the lips, cheeks, nose and other areas on the face.
These fillers have hyaluronic acid components that aim to:
- Add more volume to the cheeks.
- Refine deep facial lines.
- Give more definition to the lips.
- Help to improve acne scarring on the skin.
At Elyse Beauty & Laser Clinic, our dermal filler treatments are given by medically trained doctor and practitioners to ensure each of our client’s absolute safety.
We use filler products approved by the FDA and CE mark only, which contain local anaesthetic qualities, making the treatment much more comfortable.
How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
Dermal filler compound is injected underneath the skin to plump and add volume to a specific area, providing clients with a smooth, flawless result.
These fillers are often used around the bottom half of the face to smooth lines or indentations near the mouth, nose and lips.
The treatment can also be used to improve scar tissue on the skin.
What Happens During The Actual Dermal Filler Procedure?
Our fully qualified doctor will inject the filler into the agreed areas of your face with fine lines and wrinkles, using a local anaesthetic that makes the procedure pain free. The procedure normally only takes approximately 20 minutes with some instant results are then immediately visible (depending on the treatment).
At Elyse Clinic, we use the most advanced method of filler injections by cannula. The cannulas used to inject the filler are incredibly narrow, leaving zero scarring on the skin. Clients may experience some slight redness around the injection sites but this is a minimal and temporary effect.
How Effective Are The Results?
In most cases, dermal filler gives instant and effective results, creating a more youthful overall look. Depending on your area of choice, lines are visibly improved and certain areas of the face are fuller. Just one treatment will garner fantastic results, lasting for up to 9-12 months. This is not a permanent solution as the filler will dissolve over time.
Why Should I Get Dermal Fillers?
Facial fillers decrease wrinkles by making them appear smaller.
This includes making creases and lines around the following areas appear less noticeable:
Can Facial Fillers Hurt Me?
Dermal fillers are safe to use provided the treatment is administered by a licensed aesthetic practitioner or doctor.
Lidocaine may be used in some filler components as a local anaesthetic to ensure the injection is pain free for clients.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Most clients experience slight temporary swelling and redness following the treatment. In rare cases, some clients may experience slight soreness in the injected area for a short amount of time.
Due to the nature of the needle used, the injection site will completely disappear as the skin heals.
The risk of allergic reaction is minimal. The fillers used during this type of treatment are made from components very similar to those naturally occurring within the body.
When Shouldn’t I Get Dermal Fillers?
Do not opt for facial fillers if you have allergies or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. For more information about this, please give Elyse a call and book in for a one-to-one consultation.
During your consultation, you will get a complete list of possible side effects and warnings regarding the treatment.
These must be read carefully and can be discussed in more detail with your treatment practitioner.
